(TEMPE, Ariz.) The National Speakers Association (NSA), the leading organization for professional speakers, elected three members of its 2007-08 NSA Board of Directors to Officer positions at the 2007 NSA Convention in San Diego, Calif.
Phillip Van Hooser, CSP, CPAE, of Princeton, Ky., was elected Vice President; Susan Friedmann, CSP, of Lake Placid, NY, was elected Secretary; and Laura Stack, MBA, CSP, of Denver, Colo., was elected Treasurer. Additionally, Sam Silverstein, CSP, of St. Louis, Mo., assumes the President-Elect position.
Silverstein speaks internationally and consults with companies and business professionals on selling more, building their business and increasing income. He is president of Sam Silverstein Enterprises, Inc., and the publisher of the Build A Better Biz newsletter subscribed to by more than 60,000 business professionals. Silverstein also is the author of numerous books and e-books including The Greatest Secret To Business Success, Creating and Communicating A Memorable Marketing Message and The Success Model. Silverstein holds NSA’s Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation.
NSA Vice President Phillip Van Hooser, CSP, CPAE, is an 18-year professional speaking veteran. Through customized keynotes and training programs, Van Hooser helps corporate and association clients transform the way they lead their employees and serve customers. Van Hooser has written several books and articles on leadership and customer service including the best-seller, Willie's Way: 6 Secrets for Wooing, Wowing and Winning Customers and Their Loyalty. As well as holding NSA’s Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation, Van Hooser is a member of NSA’s CPAE Speaker Hall of Fame.
Certified Speaking Professional and NSA Secretary Susan Friedmann is a "how to" coach who specializes in the tradeshow industry. Originally from London, England, Friedmann has been a successful speaker, consultant and author for more than 20 years. Freidmann is author of the three-volume Secrets of Successful Exhibiting series, with more than 30,000 copies in print. Her latest book, Meeting & Event Planning for Dummies, was published in July 2003.
NSA Treasurer Laura Stack, MBA, CSP, is the president of The Productivity Pro, Inc., an international consulting firm focused on boosting personal productivity. A productivity expert and corporate spokesperson, Stack holds an MBA in organizational management and is the bestselling author of Leave the Office Earlier and Find More Time (Broadway Books). Stack is a Certified Speaking Professional and delivers more than 100 presentations a year to clients such as Microsoft, Time Warner and VISA.
